In a landmark initiative aimed at tackling water scarcity and improving community health, the Rotary Club of Ewutuntun is leading a coalition of Rotary Clubs in a Mega Water Project designed to serve six communities and extend reticulation to two nearby villages in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

This visionary project, spearheaded by Rotary Club of Ewutuntun, in collaboration with clubs from Abule Egba Metro, Ipaja New Dawn, Abeokuta Metro, Adeniyi Jones, Gowon Estate, Isheri Golden, Ikeja South, Akowonjo, and Oregun, stands as a shining example of the Rotary spirit of service above self.

The project will directly benefit the communities of Araromi, Ajetutu, Odofi-Oke, Odofi-Odo, and Ooba, delivering clean, accessible water to thousands of residents who have long suffered from inadequate water supply. The reticulation aspect of the initiative will ensure that two additional villages receive much-needed water access through an efficient distribution system.

Water is a fundamental human need, and this project aligns with Rotary International's Area of Focus on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). By improving access to clean water, the Rotary Club of Ewutuntun and its partners are not only reducing waterborne diseases but also empowering communities—especially women and children who often bear the burden of fetching water from distant, unsafe sources.

Speaking on the project, leaders of the Ewutuntun club emphasized that this effort is part of their long-term commitment to economic and community development. "This Mega Water Project is more than just infrastructure—it’s about dignity, health, and giving hope to underserved communities," a spokesperson noted.

As the project progresses, the Rotary Club of Ewutuntun continues to demonstrate outstanding leadership, resource mobilization, and a deep commitment to social impact. Their efforts remind us that when passionate people come together, meaningful change is possible—one drop at a time.
